We made this guide to downtown Queretaro for you, it packs everything you need to know about what to see and where to eat while exploring the beating heart of the city.

Virgen del Pueblito Sanctuary

Inaugurated on February 5, 1736 when the image of Our Lady of El Pueblito was transferred from its second hermitage, located in the old municipal cemetery, to its new temple. At the present time it receives thousands of pilgrims from several states of the republic and even from abroad.

Municipal Palace

In 1897 the Municipal Palace was built on the initiative of Don Eugenio Tovar, and inaugurated in 1902 by Don Isidro Hernandez. Of Mexican architecture, it served as the Municipal Palace until 2002, when the offices of the municipal government of Corregidora were moved to the facilities of the Ex hacienda El Cerrito, initiating official activities on January 15, 2002.

Schoenstatt

100 years after the beginning of the Schoenstatt Movement in the world (1914) and 40 years after its arrival in Querétaro (1974), this shrine located in the Olvera community was consecrated by Bishop Alfonso Toríz Cobián on October 18, 1980. The place should correspond to the German meaning of the name "Schoen- statt", which in Spanish means "beautiful place".
